The Hermes Expo International, which began in 1992 as a modest gathering for Greek-American entrepreneurs, is set to celebrate a major milestone. On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, it will convene at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, New Jersey, to mark its 35th anniversary, solidifying its status as the premier engine for Greek-American commerce and professional networking.
For thirty-five years, the Expo has served as more than just a trade show. It has functioned as a strategic bridge between Hellenic heritage and the US marketplace. Founded on the principle of progress, the event has grown into a national hub where the heavy hitters of finance, energy, and healthcare meet the next generation of innovators.
Hermes Expo legacy of strategic connection
The Expo’s longevity is often attributed to its evolution from a traditional trade fair into a high-level “live marketplace.” According to organizers, the event’s success lies in its ability to turn brief introductions into decades-long partnerships. This year’s anniversary is backed by a coalition of influential partners, ranging from food industry giants like Grecian Delight | Kronos Foods to global conglomerates like the Libra Group.
The 2026 program is designed to address the pressing economic shifts of the mid-2020s. The daytime Business & Leadership Conference will feature a curated series of masterclasses:
- Sustainability & Resilience: Dr. Evelyn Bilias Lolis (Fairfield University) will explore the psychological shift from anxiety to resilience in modern leadership.
- The Future of Energy: Sal Ritorto (Greencrown Energy) is slated to discuss the intersection of AI, electrification, and the rising costs of power for property owners.
- Scaling and Legacy: Industry leaders Irina Kapetenakis and Mike Bolos will provide blueprints for franchise expansion and multi-generational business survival.
Alongside the seminars, a Vendor Showcase will run throughout the afternoon, featuring a diverse array of sectors including point-of-sale technology, legal services, and Greek-imported food and beverage brands.
Honoring excellence
The anniversary will culminate in a black-tie Reception and Awards Celebration, a tradition that recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to both the Greek-American community and their respective professional fields.
This year’s honorees represent a broad spectrum of service, including Hon. Iphigenia Kanara for diplomatic service, Rev. Protopresbyter Paul Pappas for spiritual leadership, and Manny Niotis for business excellence. The “Athena Award,” recognizing leadership and mentorship, will be presented to Evellyn Tsiadis and Dr. Evelyn Bilias Lolis.
